Prediction 2023: Digital Marketing Ragnar?k

2023 is the year when all digital marketing solutions need to be re-done and entire digital marketing strategies for all organizations in the world will have to adapt to reality.

The reality is that Web2, and the current decade of abusive digital marketing, is founded on the premise of harvesting personal data across sites and apps and using the individual as a foreign key to assembling all data.

This has been done using Cookies and by 3rd-party hosted JavaScript that widely collects and stores data illegally about the users of any site, shop, game, or app.

The entire global system for all social media, all shopping platforms, all SaaS platforms, CRM / ERP and Newsletter systems, abandoned carts, and all forms of retargeting - it is all based on the collection and abuse of personal information that is not even owned by the organization.

Data is actually owned by Big Tech which stores and owns all the data, and in most cases, illegally in foreign countries, even though countries in the EU, UK, US and Canada, Australia and Vietnam, etc. have all implemented laws that make it very clear: it’s illegal to send citizens personal information to foreign nation states.

In the past 2-3 years, there has been a massive attempt to try and avoid changing the foundational problem that all data collection is based on harvesting and abusing personal information, to hiring Compliance Managers and IT Lawyers and purchasing very expensive Consent Management Systems.

Consent Management Systems are dead! Consent is being decentralized because all browsers are going to block all 3rd party JavaScript and all Cookies during 2023, you are already losing more than 50% of the data now because it’s being rejected by people (consumers!) and also by the browser manufacturers.

GDPR and Compliance becomes a requirement.

The European Union has been leading the fight for Privacy-First but all major nation states in the “western world” are all converging towards enforcing a complete ban and finally also enforcement of the law – so having consent to illegally collected, stored, and (ab)used data will never become legal or compliant, it’s faux compliance and the only people gaining on it are those selling consultancy and Consent Management Platforms.

The laws and the Tech already made the call: Cookies, 3rd Party JavaScript and Abuse of Personal Information are over - now it’s time for all the suppliers of the industry to stop ignoring the fact they all know, it’s time to take responsibility for the world’s organizations, unless they risk losing all brand value and credibility, I highly doubt any marketing or brand manager in the world would advise any organization to continue down the digital marketing strategy of customer abuse.

Consent is being decentralized to the users by using Web3 wallets and zero Knowledge ID blockchain as we do in AesirX. We have a strong partnership with Concordium because together AesirX, which is a MarTech stack for the world’s 20 million JavaScript developers, together with Concordiums zK ID layer can protect personal information simply by removing it from the data, so that when you move from any site, shop, game or app to another it will be possible to collect anonymized behavioral and event data with the purpose of doing retargeting and pre-targeting, AND with full data without using Cookies or any personal information - the key for the entire digital marketing strategy.

Fines are no longer given just for data leaks or breaches, but for having abuse strategies, and IT systems that are not designed for privacy-first and privacy-by-design.

Most data still lives in a Database where the data models are within the DB structure and not abstracted and isolated outside of the data. Also, all data Is still “junked” into the same data structures.

Data has to be separated and segregated so that personal information is in one silo, common data in another silo, distributed data in another silo, etc. In fact, in AesirX we are planning 7 different data types in our roadmap.

Let me explain how we do it so you can see there is a legal alternative.

AesirX Analytics is an open source 1st-party server that the organization hosts and owns the data so that any data collected is now legal from a foundational perspective to use for digital marketing purposes - but notice AesirX Analytics does not use Cookies and is focused on collecting meaningful behavioral and event data, while also covering site usage data and statistics by using the 1st-party hosted JS data collector.

AesirX Business Intelligence is the dashboard that Analytics connects to, and since the data is owned and stored by the organization but also supports multiple sources of data, data can be collected across multiple sites owned by the organization.

AesirX Single Sign On has Web3 wallet integrations and this allows any users visiting a site to ‘1 click consent’ that the site is allowed to utilize data from the user to create a more meaningful user, staff, or learning experience.

Let’s say a user registers on a newspaper site and reads about dogs.

The same user buys dog food in an online shop.

Before, Google used to collect and track the user and then show the user relevant ads based on the systematic abuse of their personal information.

From 2023, the data has to be collected and used without personal information and without collecting and storing data illegally, so a new system is required - it is simply a need (X).

AesirX lets both sites collect data, but since only the shopping site has the personal information for the user, as it is required by law for invoices, VAT, etc., the data shared are lacking all forms of personal information and on top of that the user gets to consent and define their consent by themselves.

The new ID is the Wallet Address.

To use money on wallets, you need to perform KYC at an exchange or similar service (until it’s mainstream and all banks offer it. Right now only neobanks offer this seamlessly) so the legal requirement is there and it is the most obvious and simple way to move to a universal tracking ID.

We have launched 4 out of 20 AesirX Solutions with the last two being Analytics and Business Intelligence, and the next one on December 7th will be AesirX SSO with Web3 wallet integration as well as Web2 SoMe integration (as long as they survive). Followed by AesirX MetaVerse CMS 14th of December, and finally, on the 21st of December, we are releasing our long-awaited Product Information Management (PIM) solution, which, even on its free tier, will outperform more than 50% of the paid solutions in the market in terms of functionality.

As we continue down the roadmap over the next 13 months, we will be releasing a total of 19 out of 20 solutions with a single last one planned for 2024 (AesirX ERP). All of our AesirX Solutions fully and seamlessly integrate with our open source decentralized analytics so that AesirX becomes a MarTech stack for all.

That also means we are not there yet! But we are working very hard on it and with the help of good partners, we are eager to be instrumental in creating a privacy-first world. As a supplier we take responsibility, we create legal and compliant technology for people - adding Open Decentralized APIs and Open Decentralized Stores to the Solution Series, so in the end, our purpose is not to build a Web3 blockchain that is just a new monopoly or a new silo, but instead, everything AesirX is built with the purpose to be Open and Decentralized.

We have paid tiers for all AesirX Solutions Series, but the vantage point is that all of our technology is Open Source and we have free tiers on all solutions to ensure that all organizations in the world have access to Privacy-First technology, so that there are no excuses.
