In my upcoming book,?It Starts With Gold, co-written with Peter J. Merrick, TEP and set for release on the fifth anniversary of the COVID-19 worldwide lockdowns, we pull back the curtain on a deeply entrenched system. The Financial Industrial Complex is designed to benefit a select few, keeping the majority dependent and controlled.

One of the most deceptive tools used to advance hidden agendas under the guise of generosity is Predatorial Philanthropy. Also known as Dark Arts Philanthropy or Toxic Philanthropy, this practice allows elites and powerful institutions to manipulate public perception, exert control, and push ideological and economic agendas while presenting themselves as benevolent figures.

Unlike traditional philanthropy, which is meant to uplift and address social issues, predatorial philanthropy serves the interests of the donor, not the recipients. It enables billionaires, multinational corporations, and global institutions to:

  • Advance policies that serve their own interests while masquerading as humanitarian efforts.
  • Control public discourse and silence opposition by funding media, academia, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Use foreign aid as a geopolitical tool to secure influence over developing nations.
  • Divert attention from unethical or destructive business practices while creating an illusion of generosity.

A prime example of this is the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s significant financial contributions to the World Health Organization (WHO). Over the past five years, the foundation has donated substantial amounts to the WHO. In the 2020–2021 biennium alone, the Gates Foundation contributed approximately $592 million, accounting for about 8.4% of WHO's total funding.

Rather than improving global health, these contributions have allowed unelected private interests to dictate health policies that serve corporate and ideological agendas at the expense of ordinary people. The WHO, instead of acting as a neutral body for global well-being, has become a tool for imposing centralized control, often prioritizing the interests of its largest donors over the actual needs of the populations it claims to serve. Financial leverage of this magnitude enables a handful of elites to bypass democratic processes, override national sovereignty, and push policies that harm rather than heal.

In?It Starts With Gold, we explore how this pattern extends beyond the WHO into global aid organizations, such as USAID, where corruption is not just possible but embedded in the system. Foreign aid, under the banner of humanitarian relief, is often used to consolidate power, enrich insiders, and keep populations dependent rather than self-sufficient.

The Financial Industrial Complex is designed to benefit a privileged few while leaving the majority to navigate a system that is anything but fair.?Predatorial Philanthropy?is one of its most deceptive tools, allowing the world's wealthiest and most powerful to push their agendas while shielding themselves from scrutiny.

Understanding this system is the first step toward reclaiming financial independence. This is a term worth knowing and a practice worth exposing.
