PRECISION LIFTING AT A PRIVATE VILLA IN DHAHRAN

Spider Plus recently worked on an exciting project in Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, helping to install both external and internal glass panels for a luxurious private villa. This project required thorough planning and precision, as the panels being installed were not only large and heavy but also had to be manoeuvred within a confined space.

The external glass panels measured up to 4.5m x 1.7m and weighed between 400 and 450kg, while the internal panels posed an even greater challenge, measuring 4m x 2.5m and weighing 500kg. The internal workspace inside the villa was just 6m x 3.5m, with an entrance measuring only 2m x 2.5m, leaving little room to navigate. To overcome these challenges, Spider Plus utilised a UNIC URW-376 mini spider crane, along with an MRTA6 vacuum lifter, to ensure the smooth and efficient completion of the job.

The URW-376 proved to be the perfect choice for this project. Compact enough to work in tight spaces but powerful enough to handle heavy loads, this mini spider crane is capable of lifting up to 2.9 tonnes and has a maximum working radius of 14.45m. Its compact width of just 1.3m meant it could easily access the restricted areas of the villa, while its advanced controls allowed for precise lifting and positioning of the glass panels. Combined with the vacuum lifter, the team was able to safely handle and install the panels with minimal disruption.

Thanks to the expertise of the Spider Plus team and the reliability of UNIC’s innovative equipment, the installation was completed quickly and to the highest standard. The project highlights how the URW-376, with its impressive versatility and lifting capabilities, can tackle even the most complex and challenging lifting jobs with ease.
