Precious, Fix My Pitch: Help! I Need Sales Now!

Good morning everyone! Hey, it's me, Precious! I am so thankful to all of you for being a part of my entrepreneurial journey. Everyday is not easy but I am happy to be living my dream! I have already had 12 speaking engagements since January, gotten amazing clients from referrals and word of mouth, and now host my own live events. In fact, my first conference, with Adeola Adejobi, takes place in Atlanta in September 2016!

On another note, I am going back to St. Louis, Missouri this week to visit family and friends. I am going to see my mother for the first time in 24 years! So excited and nervous. I am loving life right now.

Today, take ACTION on your dreams! Don't be afraid or let fear run you. DREAM BIG!!! Keep moving forward regardless!

Precious, Fix My Pitch:

How Can I Get Clients? I Am Desperate!

Question: Precious, I am in sales and I cannot seem to make one sale! I have been at my company for 6 months, I make lots of phone calls a day and still nothing. I know my pitch is cut and dry and it's just not working. Can you help me figure out what is holding me back? Sincerely, Desperate in Tucson

Answer: First, don't panic. When people don't make sales, they become desperate. Your desperation for the sale is coming through the phone, LOUD AND CLEAR! Your prospect can't hear anything but fear and desperation and thus, no sales.

When it comes to pitching, you have to create a pitch that "sizzles." (Cheryl Wood) If the pitch sounds dry and boring, no one is going to buy from you. You can start your pitch with a question or set the scene in the audience's mind of how you can help them. Create an emotionally compelling story with your pitch. Then, establish the problem and how you are the best solution.

You may not have sales right now but you can tomorrow. First, think of the problem from your prospect's perspective. When you see the problem/complaint through their eyes, you can write the pitch better. Also, you need to tell yourself you are the greatest salesperson in the world and believe it.

Right now, set the scene, tell a story, write the pitch, and show that you are the best solution. Then pause dramatically. Let your pitch sink in.

Last but not least, give them a passionate pitch! Leave nothing on the table!

You can do this my friend! You got this. No more desperation. It is over now. You got this!
