PRC Downstream transformation congress visits ETCA
Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam
An innovative campus where great minds come together to tackle the world’s biggest energy challenges.
Today was the 3rd day of the #PRCEurope2024 Congress and as local co-hosts, ETCA had the unique opportunity to open its doors to PRC Congress participants!
It gave us a chance to immerse and inspire PRC participants with ETCA's mission to tackle the world's biggest energy challenges through innovation, technology and collaboration. We aimed to give participants a taste of our collaborative efforts in shaping the future of energy to meet both today's and tomorrow's needs.
A warm welcome by ETCA director Ferry Winter kicked off the day, followed by an inspiring panel moderated by Liaison Manager, Simone Kranendonk . Maria Alikhanova of EPAM Systems , Daniel Galis of WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development , and Patrick Kools , of Yokogawa , joined Simone on stage to talk about the impact of #collaboration and #co-innovation in ETCA with examples of ongoing projects.
Tours of the campus were also on the programme. Starting in our beautiful central hallway called "The Valley", we walked through the halls & labs and participants learned all about the latest developments in #hydrogen, #biomass, #e-furnace, #digital solutions, #XTL green kerosine, and our #3D printing lab! Simultaneously, ETCA members Kvasir Technologies , IBM , Endress+Hauser Group and AVEVA presented their work in the Energy Transition at the ETCA market.
Rishabh Chopra , 壳牌 Digital Innovation Lead, took the stage after lunch with his masterclass about the AI Infused Digital Twin along with Marc Hoppenbrouwers of IBM , Dr Moresh Wankhede CEng FIMechE of AVEVA , and Ravi Khadka of C3.ai.

And that wasn't all AI at the event...
We have had some special visitors. EPAM Systems brought its GENAI-powered digital assistant to ETCA and Yokogawa brought its Robodog!
Hosting the 3rd day of the conference gave us and our ecosystem the chance to inspire all companies in the value chain with ETCA's mission and strategy to drive technology and innovation by collaboration, here under one roof in the centre of Amsterdam.
We hope that today contributed to valuable connections and sparked ideas that will benefit and accelerate the transition to cleaner energy.
Our special thanks go to the BGS Group for the great organization of days 1 & 2 of the congress and the dedication to make it all possible, to our ETCA event team, the ETCA team itself, our Shell colleagues, and the ETCA members involved! Thank you! We look back on a fantastic day!
