I never understand how so many Americans can cringe and weep over world hunger and filthy drinking water in foreign lands,  when we have it right here in the USA. Growing up in Baltimore and moving around the country as a multimedia journalist I've seen TOO many cases of environmental pollution leading to lead poisoning, cancer and high infant mortality rates.
