Prayers will keep you strong

Prayers will keep you strong

For most people, God is an enigma. You can’t see him, hear him or touch him but the Bible says that you must love him unconditionally. How can you love him when you do not know him? Jesus was sent to represent God in human form but that was a very long time ago. So does prayer keep your love strong for God? It depends on how open your heart is to receive love. For me, I had to discover God not from the past with Jesus but in the present with everything around me and within me.

I found love in nature and I found love within myself, The more I let God’s love embody my body, the more I felt and loved God. I wanted an intimate relationship with God. In order to achieve this intimacy, I had to walk a very long and difficult path of facing, understanding and healing the guilt, the shame and the self hate from the core of who I thought I was.

Prayer is communicating with God. As in any relationship, communicating is important. Christians pray for help, for guidance, for material needs, and scores of other things. When God answers these requests, it strengthens the bond between the believer and God. Besides all that, God likes it when His children call on Him. "…the prayer of the upright is his delight." Proverbs 15:8 "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16 "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His." 2 Chronicles 16:9

Well, if you continue to pray with conviction, keeping in mind that God can only answer “yes”, “no”, or “not yet”, then praying for something regardless if it comes to pass or not will strengthen your confirmation bias as you’ve been taught. This feedback loop will push you further into your perceived relationship with God as long as you believe that he is (conveniently) always on time and sufficient (because he just…is, I guess). When I discovered the true me, I discovered God. Love for him and I then became effortless. A strong prayer is no more useful that a weak prayer for accomplishing anything. Prayer has been scientifically shown to not work.

Repeated tests between those who prayed and those who did not pray show exactly the same results. It matters not whether you pray to God, Jesus, Mary, your dead uncle or a rock, the results are exactly the same. The words never leave your head, they go nowhere. Sometimes a person gets what they prayed for, sometimes not. But it’s just the Law of Averages at work here. The other reason of course is there is really nothing at the other end of the line.

It would be wise for atheist people to use their time instead to work toward their goals, get the education, training and experience needed for the career they want, to make the kind of money they want or get whatever it is they are asking God to provide. Religion has caused two problems here. First, telling people to pray to god when prayer goes nowhere. Second, there is no god up there in heaven listening to us.

Every day I see questions from depressed, broken-down people, some on the verge of suicide. God didn’t answer their prayers. They’ve been told since childhood, God loves you, pray to God, God listens to your prayers. Now they feel unloved, unworthy, and disregarded because God isn’t answering them. It is through prayer only we get connected with the divine energy ….especially in silent prayers you can feel something bigger than us is listening to everything we say and right after that very moment there is a lightness which prevails in our heart ….which is some what the same kind of a feeling but in a smaller degree which we experience when we say something deep to the ones we love and who listens to us patiently.

It's a beautiful feeling talking to God does not need any language. Faith is the key to any religion, even if your “god” is the flying spaghetti monster, as long as you have faith or positivity in them, it will keep you strong. Well, if you continue to pray with conviction, keeping in mind that God can only answer “yes”, “no”, or “not yet”, then praying for something regardless if it comes to pass or not will strengthen your confirmation bias as you’ve been taught. This will push you further into your perceived relationship with God as long as you believe that he is (conveniently) always on time and perfectly sufficient. Cheers!
