Prayas the literal meaning of this word is to try an attempt. And they are trying their level best to uplift that section of our society which really needs help and care in every ways.
On 28th November 2017 we went to a special school where we paid 4 thousand rupees for lunch. The occasion was second year death anniversary of our beloved mother, who always cared for the poor. This school is special and different from others, It’s for the mentally challenged children. Whenever I saw any mentally challenged child I use to feel how much pain parents take to raise the kid. But here there are 75 such children and 30 staff. They are all trained in their own streams. There is a physiotherapist who constantly provides various kind of therapies to the children. When we spoke to her she said it needs lot of patience and time. Still they improve. We see two boys who were not able to lift their hands now they are doing their own work, bathing, brushing and eating. So there is progress in the children some are bit early some are late but still progress is there. The dedication, patience, kindness everything in one place you can find in Prayas.
But still I am sad, you may think why. They need our support monetary support, support in terms of goods etc. It’s a registered NGO but without government funding. They do not have time to run behind the process which is time taking. Their time goes with the children, working with them day and night is not a joke. Few philanthropists are helping them. But its a continuous process. From that day I am thinking how to help them? How do I get the fund for them? For example the area where they are staying is on rent and they are paying 10 thousand per month. How do I arrange ten thousand every month for them so that they can utilize that money in some other way. My thoughts are just moving in my mind and I have spoken to everyone regarding this whomever I know till now. Still I need a solution.
For those who are reading right now can come up with idea and how to raise fund for them. This school is helping that section of our society which requires utmost care every minute, every hour, every month and every year. We cannot leave them unattended. While writing about Prayas I can see, visualize those innocent faces whom I meet last week. Their smile, their face, and their innocence everything is roaming in my thoughts.
