Pray, Pray, Pray
God Morning Everyone,
Today is the National Day of Prayer!!! It's the 70th one since its inception in 1952 by Congress (voted on unanimously!!!) and Harry S Truman. BTW - God likes the number 70!!! Throughout history this number has shown up, but I want to remind us of a couple of them. Jeremiah 29:10-11 (NKJV) says; "For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Bringing the nation out of captivity happened after 70 years: In 1948, the nation of Israel became a nation in one day (Isaiah 66:7-9). Seventy years later, President Trump moved the US Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, a notable occurrence. Now 70 years of prayer. As I said there are many times, in the Word, where things happened after 70 years. God repeats happenings in the Word, over and over. A little study will prove this out.
Our nation is in the battle of its life. The onslaught of evil we are experiencing, is total proof of this. I won't go into detail, but you only have to open eyes and ears, to see virtually everything the Bible calls evil, is being called good, abortion, homosexuality, lying running rampant, fear and anxiety worse than ever, selfishness of people at an all time high, war against the Church on many fronts, and MUCH MUCH MORE. We're reminded of an occurrence in the Word, where the nation of Judah was surrounded by the threat of extinction much like the US is witnessing, except the enemy is from within, led by the enemy, satan himself. Jehoshaphat called a PRAYER TIME AND FAST.
2 Chronicles 20:3-6, 15, 17 (AMP) says; "Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting. 4 So people from all the towns of Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the Lord’s help. 5 Jehoshaphat stood before the community of Judah and Jerusalem in front of the new courtyard at the Temple of the Lord. 6 He prayed........(Jahaziel, a member of the congregation prophesied) 15 He said, 'Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.....17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!'." The next day, the army, led by the choir, went out, but when they got there, everyone was dead, turning on each other and killing each other.
What's the answer for the United States' problem? An old song says; "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace." Side note; The Lord has placed this song before me for over a week as I begin to pray daily, even before I was aware of the National Day of Prayer.
Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV) says; "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." FAITH IN GOD, ALONE, BRINGS VICTORY!!!!!
My encouragement to you, today, is to join the Day with the millions from around the World that will be doing this. One place I know the Word will be prayed and declared in power and victory is, Eagle Mountain Church in Newark, TX. This is affiliated with the Kenneth Copeland ministry. (You can find it on the Victory Channel, YouTube or FB) Consider fasting and praying, asking the Lord to come in and change our Nation in every form and fashion. I believe the only way this change can happen is through the Love of God (1 John 4:8) in and through us, not coming against anyone in particular with the exception of the enemy.
Just as Israel came out of captivity in a day, the nation of Israel was remade in a day, the Embassy was moved to the real capital of Israel, Jerusalem, in a day, Judah was spared in a day, OUR GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD CAN DO THE SAME THING FOR US. The answer is in the prayer of the people with Hebrews 12:2 in mind, turning our eyes upon Jesus the Savior, our Lord and our God, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
