Pranshu Singhal on his crusade against India's e-waste conundrum

If you look around your homes and offices and count the number of phones, electronic devices and other gadgets, you will perhaps realise they can make a small hill in a corner.

And if we gather all these mini hills we will have a mountain of e-waste. And you don't have to go far to realise what I am talking about.

Have you seen the Ghazipur landfill and the mountain of waste?

Over the years while driving by I have watched it grow from a tiny landfill to a real mountain where trucks are actually driving to get to the top!

It's not surprising then that India is now the world's third largest e-waste producer, generating an estimated 30 lakh tonnes of it every year.

In this episode of Outliers Podcast in collaboration with The Times of India, I put the spotlight on India's digital underbelly with former head of Nokia's sustainability Pranshu Singhal.

Do tune in, and please rethink before you upgrade to a new phone
