We human beings are sneezing, coughing, burping, yawning and so on. we rarely concentrated on why these reactions are happening. We heard of Vayu in our body, yes without Vayu nothing can function in our body. All the physiological functions are because of pranas.
Prana comes into the body from the food we eat, the air we breathe and from absorbing the energies of the earth and heavens. Prana travels through thousands of tiny channels called nadis to every cell in the body.
Prana-Vayu : This Vayu is with upward movement in the chest regions deals with the reception of eye, ears, perception and breathing.
Apana-Vayu : The air evacuates from the rectum is Apana, which removes waste products CO2 from the lungs and excretory system.
Samana-Vayu : Samana is the air responsible for metabolism and the functioning of the digestive system.
Udana-Vayu : Udana flows through the throat. It regulates the vocal cords and the conscious ability to produce the varied sounds of speech, laughter, crying and singing, as the situation demands.
Vyana-Vayu : Vyana circulates throughout the body and controls voluntary muscular activity. It maintains and balances all pranas.
PRANAYAMA is the vital technique that is followed to maintain the flow of pranas to keep the body and mind with vitality.
