Praised Yesterday. Fired Today. Stay Ready to Get Another Job

At some organizations, they, not only refer to employees as the name of the organization, they include kids as "junior" name-of-the-organization.

For example, the firm is "Mozon." Employees are called Mozons and their kids are "Junior Mozons." ??

It's fine if you like where you work. But, when you call yourself the name of companies that aren't yours (you're NOT an owner), emotionally and mentally adopting the firm's identity as YOUR identity....mmmmmm??

Since 2020 and before, thousands have been laid off. From CEO's to Directors to Managers, to line workers to anyone who is NOT the owners. They don't care if you've rearranged your life for a job. They don't care if you can live off severance and, in many cases, people don't get severance (I didn't when I was laid off).

A firm's #1 job is to do what's in the firm's best interest, not YOUR best interests. It's your job to stay ready to get a new job at all times, for your resume/interviewing skills/salary negotiation strategies to always be updated.

To never get too comfortable at jobs that aren't yours because the firm isn't yours.

Last week, a Director "Frank" was named Top Leader by a major professional organization. Last night, Fred was fired, effective immediately. His [former] employer wanted to "go in a different direction."

Stay ready at all times. You own YOU.
