Praise using the PRAISE method

Praise using the PRAISE method

Praise is a powerful tool that can motivate and inspire people to achieve their goals. It is a way to recognize and acknowledge the efforts and accomplishments of others. However, not all praise is created equal. To make your praise more effective, it's important to use, what I say, the PRAISE method.

P is for Precise

When it comes to praise, being precise is important. Instead of using generic statements like "good job," try to be specific about what you're praising. For example, if someone completed a project ahead of schedule, you could say, "I really appreciate how you took the initiative to complete that project ahead of schedule. Your hard work and dedication are really paying off."

R is for Relevant

Praise that is relevant to the person's actions will have a greater impact. Be sure to acknowledge specific behaviors or actions that you believe contributed to the success. For example, if someone gave a great presentation, you could say, "Your presentation was really impressive. I could see that you put a lot of time and effort into preparing for it, and it really paid off."

A is for Amiable or Affiliative

The most effective praise is amiable or affiliative rather than creating a reward sense. Celebrate the success genuinely. The praise that shows celebration is actually inspiring for the executer. People want to feel like they're part of a team and that their contributions are appreciated. For example, if someone did a great job on a project, you could say, "We couldn't have done this without you. Your hard work and dedication are really appreciated."

I is for Inspiring

The praise that shows celebration is actually inspiring for the executer. When someone feels recognized and appreciated, they are more likely to be motivated to continue their hard work and success. For example, if someone accomplished a difficult task, you could say, "Your dedication and persistence are truly inspiring. I'm proud of all that you've accomplished."

S is for Sincere

Sincerity is an important aspect of praise. People can often tell when someone is being insincere or giving false praise. However, sincerity does not mean that you have to say everything you're thinking. Be polite and tactful in your approach, while still being sincere. For example, if someone did a great job on a project but there were some areas for improvement, you could say, "Your hard work and dedication really paid off. In the future, we could work on X to make it even better."

E is for Encouraging

When praise is done perfectly, it is always encouraging. However, praise should not only be reserved for successes – encouragement is required even on failures. It's important to acknowledge the effort put in, even if the outcome wasn't what was hoped for. For example, if someone didn't do as well on a project as they had hoped, you could say, "I know this wasn't the outcome you were hoping for, but I want to acknowledge the effort and dedication you put into this project. Let's work together to improve for next time."

Yes it realy works. It is more effective when in form of written or gift and verbal also wit honor.
