In praise, once again, of industry
The column linked below won honors as best in class from the California Newspaper Publishers Association more than 15 years ago.
I'll leave it to others to assess whether and to what degree its points about urban planning and socioeconomic development ring true these days.
I will say that a recent walk past the Chicago Picasso in a fine afternoon light reminded me that the pride I feel for my late father's role in bringing the artwork into being remains as strong as ever.
So does my sense that manufacturing is a fundamential function of a healthy society.
