How many successful business executives do you know that are doing regularly physical activity?
Have you ever consider that there is strong relation between being successful in business and doing sport?
I am pretty sure that there are plenty of analysis that demonstrate the benefit of doing sport. It is good for health, for mood, for networking, …
My intention with this new blog is mainly to pass three messages:
- Sport is good to improve business results: Practicing sport has positive impacts on many aspect on our daily life including positive impacts to Business results
- Find the time and don’t find excuses: Not having time to practice sport is the most common excuse used by lazy people. Reality is different. Doing some sport every day will increase your capability to manage time and will free even additional time
- Find your Motivation: In order to practice regularly sport, you need to understand your motivation. You can be motivated by results, by fun, by gadgets… Once identified your motivation you will not stop anymore
Since 6 years I started practicing regularly sport. I run marathons, half marathons, I swim regularly, I hike mountains, I ride my MTB and my street bike and recently I also started playing tennis.
In these six years I also managed to achieve excellent business results both in my previous company (Nokia) and in the new one (Comptel).
I am a slow runner, a slow swimmers, I am not good in playing tennis and every now and then I even fall down with my MTB. I am overweight and I like food and good wine. I am not the typical crazy sport-man full of muscles with zero fat. My Motivation: I always say that I do sport to enjoy more food and good wine.
In the last few years I took the decision to start convincing my friends, colleague, partners and customers to start doing sport and amazingly enough there are today plenty of people that are thanking me because they started doing sport following me and they see huge benefit.
If you are sport addicted you will find lot of similarities. If you are in sales you will see that managing sales and managing training have incredible similarities. if you are not yet doing sport and you are curious, just follow me... may be you will be the next one experimenting the benefit of doing sport

9 年I'm fatter and slower than you (sadly, older too) but i agree with you and like the idea:) P
This is so true... I couldn't agree more. Indulging in some sport results in achieving more in business results also. This helps even in relationships as well.

9 年I would agree with the idea in general, but I do not follow for the content that is more about individual or personal observation. Personally, I see more correlation with sports or activities that happen in teams and groups rather than individual activities. So, Itook much more out of taking and sharing responsibility and playing in teams when spending time with friends during high mountain tours.
