Practice this simple shift to hit your goals in 2025
Come new year, many start setting goals from fitness resolutions to career ambitions, all with good intentions. But studies have shown that more than 80% fail to achieve them.
Why?
One of the strongest reason comes from fact that most people try to do it all alone. As achieving any meaningful goals involves change at multiple levels from daily behaviours, overcoming limiting beliefs, setting new values, doing individually though not impossible, may not be most optimal.
Because any change require the tools, support, consistency to accomplish rather than using just will power! Read here my earlier blog on this why willpower alone won't help you change
But there is much simpler and easier way exists? The truth is, most goals are easier — and more enjoyable — to accomplish when you’re surrounded by people who share your vision.
The Problem: Isolation Leads to Burnout
Pursuing goals alone often feels overwhelming. Without accountability, encouragement, or support, it’s easy to lose motivation and give up when challenges arise.
Imagine trying to write a book without feedback, train for a marathon without a partner, or start a business without a mentor. The struggle is real — and unnecessary.
The Solution: Join the Right Community
The Power of We lies in finding and joining a group that shares your vision. Communities provide accountability, collective wisdom, and encouragement, helping you stay focused and energized.
Here’s how to find the right community for your goals:
1?? Identify Shared Values: Look for groups aligned with your principles and goals.
2?? Engage Actively: Don’t just join — participate, share, and connect.
3?? Leverage Collective Energy: Use the group’s support to push through tough times and celebrate milestones together.
Real-World Example: Doing first or many marathon
Few years back a friend of me told me how did full marathon in just few months from being someone who hadn't run even 1km over a decade. He said, he decided to run a marathon because he needed some change. Like any other goals, he set out on his own and started practicing daily. But months went by and his running was no where better. He was inconsistent and could hardly see any improvement in stamina or running distance.
That's when he found a running community and decided to join them. In this community, just like him many first timers were aiming for marathon. This community was led by runner who had done multiple marathons across globe and it has many experienced as well as beginners.
They had clear vision, values set, rituals like daily/weekly practice sessions, many stories from fellow runners and everything needed to get people accomplish as per unity blueprint.
That’s it, with in 4 months he ran the marathon.
Or to narrate my own story, When I set out to write The Power of We, I struggled to stay consistent. I had worked on draft, content everything but was struggling to publish, as I had never done and felt overwhelmed with many things going wrong.
It was then l I joined a writing community called AFH (Author Freedom Hub) led by Som Bathla that I found the accountability and encouragement I needed. The shared vision of that group helped me complete not just one book but also inspired me to begin my second.
This isn’t unique to me. Communities like running clubs, coworking spaces, and mentorship networks have helped countless individuals achieve goals they once thought impossible.
The Takeaway: Don’t Go It Alone
