Practical Steps Towards AI & ML

A huge trend this year and last year has been around #ai??and #ml - more specifically technology that involves natural learning processing, clustering, optimization / engineering / re-engineering of business processes, Knowledge Management, Incidnet, Problem, Change Management / Enablement.

As organizations feel the urgency of #digitaltransformation and move away from traditional IT infrastructure to cloud, there is a great need to adopt tools that can reduce the time to market.??Having said that, there is a common misconception around the concept of #ai and #ml.??Keep in mind your automation is as good as your process (practice)!??It’s a GIGO approach - Garbage in -> Garbage out.??Tool should be the end but not the beginning!!??Here are some practical steps that you can use in your #digitaltransformation journey:

- Use IT Gov. framework.??My personal??favorites are:??#cobit??from #isaca #iso20k or #bsi15k, for as much audit and gap analysis as you can - proactively.

- Assess your process maturity - Use CMMI;

- Build from what you already have;

- Avoid any technical debt;

- Shred where you can - Use Agile methodologies in all areas;

- Expand on your self service offerings;

- Use the #itilv4 Service Value Chain (#itilsvc) Operating Model for the creation, delivery and ongoing improvement of services as it outlines the key activities requiered to create value in response to demand, through the creation and delivery of products / services - this is not in #devops??and / or #SRE - hence can be used in conjunction with these methodologies;

- Ensure you have defined and refined your cloud strategy - remember you can multi cloud strategy

- [This one is really important] - Ensure whatever #cloud strategy you use or what #cloud services you use #AWS, #google, #azure, etc, the cloud platform provided gives you the flexibility for CI CD pipeline!!!?

And the last - Use the tool to execute what you have already perfected and defined based on above.
