Exciting news in the biotech world! Bruker has acquired Bruker Biosensors , a pioneer in single-cell interaction cytometry systems for drug discovery.


This strategic move combines Dynamic Biosensors' innovative heliX series with Bruker's high-performance SPR portfolio, creating a leading biosensors business.

?? Smith+Nephew and JointVue, LLC collaborate on robotics-assisted surgery.


The co-marketing agreement is focused on JointVue’s patented OrthoSonic 3D Surgery Planning Technology. OrthoSonic is said to be the only ultrasound device available for 3D preoperative planning.

The partnership will allow the integration of JointVue’s technology with Smith+Nephew’s CORI Surgical System.

Surgeons using the CORI Surgical System with OrthoSonic 3D Surgery Planning Technology for robotic-assisted knee surgery will help to create personalised surgical plans.

Seegene Inc. , a South Korean PCR molecular diagnostics provider, has finalized a partnership agreement with Werfen a specialized diagnostics firm, to establish a joint venture called Werfen-Seegene in Spain.


This collaboration is part of Seegene's global technology-sharing initiative, which aims to share its advanced diagnostic and data analysis technologies with partners worldwide.

The new company will focus on developing products for infectious diseases, including antimicrobial resistance testing, viral load testing, and monitoring for organ transplant patients. It will leverage Werfen's local infrastructure and Seegene's technology to create diagnostic solutions tailored to Spain's healthcare needs.

Carlos Pascual, CEO of Werfen, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "We are excited to leverage Seegene's unparalleled technology and manufacturing expertise to develop products tailored for the Spanish and Portuguese market, where there is a high demand for rapid product development due to the frequent emergence of new infectious diseases and viral mutations."

This joint venture, expected to be established by mid-2025 pending regulatory approvals, will serve as a strategic hub in Europe, accelerating the global expansion of Seegene's technology-sharing initiative.

Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major public health problem and a cause of chronic liver disease leading to an estimated 1.1 million deaths in 2022, mainly due to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

In 2022, World Health Organization estimated that 254 million people were living with chronic hepatitis B, of whom 65% were in the African and Western Pacific regions.

Most of this global burden can be attributed to mother to child transmission (MTCT) at the time of or shortly after birth and horizontal household transmission.
