10 simple tips for more work efficiency with ChatGPT - And what really works and what doesn't!

Here’s a little summary of prompts you can really use in your daily work that really works.

First of all, unless you are using the OpenAI APIs with a dedicated sandbox for your organization, you should not share sensitive data with ChatGPT at all. You can disable sending data to OpenAI to retrain their models if you go to: Settings > "Disable flag which is activated" in your ChatGTP (Plus) account. You can also do the explicit opt-out here in this format.

If you use ChatGPT you can type in the following:

1. “Give me five articles about {topic of your choice} with an URL and summary”. Important: ChatGPT often delivers 404 websites. Again, ChatGPT cannot access the internet. Unless you have ChatGPT plugins (waiting list) or use other methods, this prompt is not working. Again, data is updated up to 2021, so you cannot expect the latest articles. Some experts claim that this gives you up-to-date information which is just not correct. By next week (check my news), however, ChatGPT Plus users will be able to browse the internet and have 70 plugins (check my article on ChatGPT plugins). This was before not possible unless you installed webchatgpt extensions, used some GPT-enhanced tools, or programmed it.
2. “Please summarize this article in {URL of your preferred article} in bullet points.” Important note: ChatGPT (respectively GPT-4 or GPT-3.5) won’t summarize the content of that link as it cannot enter an internet search (except title etc.). However, you can use Bing Search instead (now also available to all users! no waiting list) to do so or program your own API software to use Bing Search first and then ChatGPT API.?
3. Rephrase an article in another “tone of voice”: “Paste an article and prompt ChatGPT: Rewrite this article to sound more {your style}, e.g. genuine, human and diverse.”
4. Translations. Paste in your text and say: translate in Swiss German…yes it works pretty well with GPT-4 LLM.
5. Simplify complex topics by prompting: “Explain quantum computing like I am a kid”.?This one should always work fine.
6. Ideation: Come up with five ideas how to disrupt the market {topic}. Be very precise and specific so it is interesting for people to learn more about it”. You can also prompt: Name 5 challenges in the industry {XY} as specific as possible. Then provide strategies to solve these challenges with hands-on examples.
7. Summarize the book you always wanted to read but did not have time… I love Adam Grant’s books. So I just ask ChatGPT to “summarize me the book Think Again by Adam Grant”.?

9. Analyse long PDFs and ask questions to your PDFs with ChatGPT PDF: https://www.chatpdf.com/. Amazing stuff for students and people working with PDFs a lot!!!
10. How do I write prompts so that they work well? Use the Role-Task-Format (RTF) Rule when you write to ChatGPT or generative AI models:

• Describe your role: You are a product manager
• Describe your task: Describe 5 product visions for a leisure app. Be very specific
• Describe your format: Create a table with all product visions.
