I have lately been observing that journalists are heading north in search of jobs, …sorry, a correction there, ‘Corporate Jobs’! Actually, they aren’t to be blamed. Why blame at all! Huh.. silly me!
Digi-comm is such a wonderful phenomenon. Everyone is getting what they want at the touch of finger, relaxing in their havens. Other than politics and economy, are journalists really being sought? I doubt that. Obviously everyone is after creating content online. #Marketers, #PR_professionals #Digital_marketers, #Advertisers… Perhaps their target consumer may find them on the next screen-touch!
Truly, gone are the golden days of #PR_Industry. Just a matter of time and we we’ll see PR industry transforming into digital promotion arenas, subdued as digital promoters. With the paper-news going into the maché, Public Relations is hardly coping with the key requisites of ‘what’, ‘how’ & ‘WHERE’ does the client needs to be really visible.
No wonder PR business is loosing its charm to the digi-coms. The credibility is now easy to achieve through likes and reviews, so who needs PR anymore? The industry wasn’t simply prepared!
If not addressed immediately, PR industry is heading for a dead end ahead. Its time to claim back its glory by pacing up to the future. I remember how while a conversation almost a decade ago, I and Chirag Thomas Cheriyan did discuss this! But it is surprising to see, that we aren’t there yet!
So, where is the FUTURE of PR Industry? It is precisely where the stakeholders are… on the screen! But just like Digital marketers caused blunders by pouring in content, is the PR industry planning to follow the suit?
Hmmm… This one’s little tough to crack. You may need me there…Se ya soon! ??
