PPT Tips: How to Simplify Complex Presentation in 3 Steps

One of the presentation design challenges is the complexity of slides. Often you may think that you need to show all that information, and there's no way to cut it down. Sounds right?

Here are a few tips on how to simplify a complex presentation and leave only important information in the slides.

How to Simplify Complex Presentation in Three Steps

Too wordy slides are effectiveness killers, read on to see how you can minimize the amount of text while keeping the main message and key points. Try these three tips when working on your next presentation:

  1. Keep only the keywords, and eliminate less important "filler words". Analyze a slide and decrease the amount of info, saving only the words that carry the main thoughts. Remember that a slide is not your narration material, it's only a support that people scan through.
  2. Use a visual form of diagrams to express the essence. Replace the keywords with the set of shapes, or create simple infographics.
  3. Split content into more slides to get space. If you can't reduce the amount of data, break the text into two or three slides and present it one by one.
