PPL : VERDICT

Very impressed with the PPL presentation at Lloyd's on Friday.

I see no reason why this cannot be adopted by other classes sooner. Of course, facilities (Lineslips / binders) will require adjustments in process; however, the basic process for all classes of business is founded upon the same quote/offer/acceptance principles.

Perhaps a small seminar with, say, Marine UWs and brokers to establish now if there is any reason why this cannot be adopted sooner would be a useful 'next steps' indicator for PPL?

Reporting: The 'C suite', technical underwriting operations teams, UW managers and senior managers in brokers all need to have performance and adoption reporting from Day 1.  A data dump is a start but it does not take much to create a ready-made macro file (that will create structured xl format reports) that can be issued with the data dump.

Doing this work for the on-board brokers and managing agents now will be truly appreciated by the senior exec sponsors...
