The PPG Gift Guide
Just in case the weather hadn’t made it obvious enough, summer has well and truly arrived. Every torrential downpour and day of unrelenting humidity already has me counting down the days until spring. It's been thirty years and I’m still not equipped to deal with the SEQ summers…
I’ll tell you what though - the heat certainly is a lot more bearable along the river in Teneriffe. In case you needed a sign that Macquarie Street, Vernon Terrace and the surrounding addresses are the place to be, consider this it!Just in case the weather hadn’t made it obvious enough, summer has well and truly arrived. I’ll tell you what though - the heat certainly is a lot more bearable along the river in Teneriffe. In case you needed a sign that Macquarie Street, Vernon Terrace and the surrounding addresses are the place to be, consider this it!
In fact, the balcony at 52/110 Macquarie Street is the perfect spot to enjoy the cool breeze rustling the branches of the surrounding treetops. I’m sure the new residents of this home that sold for $1,450,000 earlier this week will be very happy here!
In other news, our Christmas tree is up, we’re busy arguing who gets to claim the lollies from the advent calendar and quite frankly, I’m surprised Georgie and Lou aren’t wearing Santa hats around the office daily - that can only mean one thing: it’s time for a PPG Christmas Gift Guide!
For a bit of fun, I assigned each team member a property at random and asked them to tell me what present they’d want to see under their tree if this was their new home.
Here’s what we came up with:
A stunning Art Deco apartment a short walk from Howard Smith Wharves? I’ll take that for Christmas! Bar the incredible location and sprawling north-facing views from the balcony, you simply can’t look past the yesteryear charm of this heritage home.
I’d be hoping for a Le Labo Santal 33 candle! I can’t get enough of that scent, and I will keep negotiating with Ben that it’d be great for the office too!
I’d be quite content if all that was under my tree this year was as set of keys to this top-floor Dakota Woolstore, but I’d certainly be faced with one issue: I wouldn’t have anywhere near enough furniture to fill this stunning apartment!
I like to think I have a better eye for dimensions than Lou, who picked all her new furniture without measuring the space (or the doorway Ben and I would have to fit it through), but I’d book a consultation with Luma Design Co and let them guide my choices! They nail it every time!
Perfectly positioned between Gasworks Plaza and James Street, this is a fantastic, walk-to-anywhere home in the heart of Newstead. Not a day goes by without Josh picking on me for choosing to walk everywhere - and I agree that this low-maintenance apartment with a massive balcony would indeed be in the perfect location for me!
I’d ask for a Klemenza voucher to invest in a beautiful vase! The perfect excuse to pick up fresh flowers from Avalon Florals!
Perfectly renovated with incredible attention to detail, I know exactly what would add the perfect finishing touch to this river-facing Dakota Woolstore apartment: A John Wren artwork!
It’s no secret I’m a huge fan, but there’s something special about the way his pieces perfectly complement the soaring ceilings and brick walls of the Woolstores. The whole team will laugh when they see my obvious choice, but It’s a no brainer for me!
Perfectly positioned between the Teneriffe Boardwalk and the Powerhouse Dog Park, this apartment is right down my alley! I’m a long girl and this hound is always looking for a soft surface to lie on, so I’ll have an XL Barney Bed to add to my collection of places to lounge please!
There’s only four of us - who all clearly love an opportunity to rip into each other - but there are plenty more properties for you to discover! Take a closer look at all of them here!
I find it hard to believe that there are only a handful of open homes left before the year comes to an end, but I certainly hope I’ll see you there!
