???RIP Similar audiences - Similar audiences will stop being generated in May 2023 and be removed automatically on August 23.

What's next? Goog is introducing an evolution to the Ads Data Hub core platform by introducing two dedicated solutions (source)

(1) Ads Data Hub for Marketers?offers a new way for advertisers and agencies to analyze their data. With this solution, they can seamlessly access insights to better inform the way they purchase media.?

(2) Ads Data Hub for Measurement Partners?gives partners a new access point to provide YouTube measurement services on behalf of marketers, advertisers, agencies, or publishers.


Campaign Manager

GMP API v202211 - ?This release lays the groundwork for multiple third-party impression-tracking URLs. ImageCreative?and other creative types replaced the string field?thirdPartyImpressionTrackingUrl?with the list field?thirdPartyImpressionTrackingUrls. Currently, only a single URL can be provided in the list.

DV360 API Changes - On November 7, 2022,?optimized targeting?will gradually begin replacing?targeting expansion?for display, video, and audio line items under a Display & Video 360 partner, with the new feature launched for all partners by November 9, 2022. We will be making changes to the Display & Video 360 API to reflect this.

GDPR, Privacy laws & Cookies-less world

  • The Digital Services Act - It was finally officially published in the Official Journal of the European Union on October 27, 2022. The rules will regulate how platforms and marketplaces must handle illegal content, goods, and services, as well as introduce specific provisions for larger platforms to increase the transparency of data processing through algorithms.   • TikTok vs CFIUS - TikTok is currently finalising a deal with CFIUS, an interagency committee that conducts national security reviews of foreign companies' deals, to determine whether it can be divested by Chinese parent company ByteDance to an American company and remain operational in the United States "or banned completely" if the deal does not provide sufficient insulation from Beijing (source)


Advertising News

  • Reddit API - Reddit is working on a new Ads API and have just announced their first four alpha partners (Vidmob, Sprinklr, adMixt, PMG) . The partners will be integrated into the API and are helping build solution that will inevitably help advertisers build, scale, and optimize campaigns. (source)
  • YouTube Primetime - Rolling out an early version of Primetime Channels in the US (in?Movies & TV hub), you can now see over 30 channels that you can buy directly through YouTube, with streaming services such as NBA League Pass and more coming soon.

  • Gmail Package Tracking - In Gmail, You can opt-in to receive package tracking updates right from your inbox or in Gmail settings. Gmail will then automatically look up order statuses using your tracking numbers and surface them in your inbox.?(source)

  • The Audience Excellence Award - This new 2022 award will go to a team that exhibits excellence in their audience campaigns through strategy, optimisation, and performance. It will promote the adoption of products and features across the Microsoft Audience Network, as well as collaboration with Microsoft Advertising account teams to drive a successful strategy.   • Uber Journey Ads - Uber receives complaints about the so-called “journey ads” because "notifications are being sent out when users aren’t engaging with the app." This campaign type lets brands show a user different ads at three points of a trip: while waiting for a car, while riding and upon reaching the destination. Brands are able to “personalize” ads to each user based on their travel history and geographic destinations. (source)
  • Netflix's Basic Plan - Subscribers in the U.S. can pay $6.99 per month for Netflix’s ad-supported plan. Basic with Ads is $13 less than Netflix’s Premium plan, nearly $9 less than the Standard plan and $3 less than the Basic plan. There will be an average of 4 to 5 minutes of ads per hour that play before and during movies and TV shows. Ads will be 15 to 30 seconds long. (source)?

  • Upgraded Twitter Blue - starting at $7.99 per month, Twitter will add the blue verification checkmark previously reserved for accounts that applied through Twitter’s?free verification process?(although the New York Times?reports?that verification might be delayed until after Tuesday’s midterm elections).?(source)
