RIP Google Optimize: Google Optimize is sunsetting and won't be available after September 30, 2023.

As Peter ?utarík rightfully mention, "Google is hinting at more A/B testing integrations directly in GA4. I'm curious what that will look like - if it will be just an easier integration with other tools such as Optimizely, VWO, or Crazy Egg, or if it will be a fully standalone solution."

  • Alphabet was sued by the US Justice Department and eight states, calling for the break up of the search giant’s ad-technology business over alleged illegal monopolization of the digital advertising market. (source)

  • Meta will be ending the suspension of Mr Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts in the coming weeks. (source)
  • Twitter announced that it has teamed up with ad-tech companies?DoubleVerify?and?Integral Ad Science (IAS)?to tell advertisers if their ad is placed around inappropriate content.?(source)
  • Spotify?is undertaking a broad restructuring amid economic uncertainty, announcing that it is cutting 6% of its headcount to reduce costs. (source)
  • TikTok has confirmed?that some of its US employees have the ability to boost videos in order to “introduce celebrities and emerging creators to the TikTok community. (source)

Thoughts of the week.

Rand Fishkin gave more context about the recent layoffs at the major Tech firms. When looking at the pandemic headcount growth, you can easily notice that these companies bring over 910,889 jobs over the last 2.5 years. (source)

Campaign Manager 360 API?v3.5 will sunset on?Feb 20th, 2023. After this date, all requests made to v3.5 of this API will fail. If you're still using this version, you must migrate to the?most current release?to avoid an interruption in service. (source)
