CrowdTangle phase-out announced for August 2024

Meta plans to discontinue CrowdTangle by August 14, 2024, to focus on new research tools, the Meta Content Library & Content Library API, designed to meet evolving regulatory requirements and privacy standards. Users can access CrowdTangle until the shutdown date but cannot add new users, with the platform now in maintenance mode. [Meta ]

LinkedIn will expand its Thought Leader Ads , enabling brands to sponsor content from any member - not just employees. (coming in March)

Despite bipartisan support in the House and endorsement from President Biden, the future of TikTok in the U.S. remains in limbo as the Senate deliberates its next steps. EU lawmakers urge Meta to end 'Pay or Okay' Scheme

In a collective move led by Pirate Party MEP Patrick Breyer, 36 European Parliament members demand Meta to abolish its controversial 'pay or okay' privacy scheme, criticizing it for undermining privacy rights and exerting economic coercion. EU Commission targets Generative AI risks under the Digital Services Act.
