powering data-driven success for tomorrow’s organisations

If data defines our organisations, then in these times of accelerating change they must integrate data agility into their strategy, culture and delivery practices to drive sure-footed business agility and sustainable success.
Many organisations claim to be data-centric, but how many of them have successfully meshed their various internal strata, or harmonised strategic direction with system delivery? To guarantee successful agility we must start by taking a step back to understand and simplify our organisation's relationship with its data. Only from this firm foundation, can we build step by step to position data at the organisation’s heart and ensure the agile delivery of business focussed value.
This is the premise of my latest book which has recently been published. I believe that it has relevance for everyone with a stake in the data-driven success of their organisation, from the C-suite to the codeface. It describes the practical techniques to drive sustainable data agility, energise organisational strategy and generate increased business value.
It is available at the usual retailers including: Amazon UK and Amazon US.
This book has two other popular companions covering:
- The Data Model Toolkit - available at Amazon UK and Amazon US and
- Enterprise Data Architecture - available at Amazon UK and Amazon US

3 年It is data that leverages new technologies from IoT to AI/ML and from AR/VR to Edge Computing into productivity boosters. Therefore, getting data "right" is prerequisite for success - applicable to all businesses across all industries. However, getting it right calls for holistic and systematic data capability build-up. Short-sighted point-solutions won't cut it. And, at the same time, the need for distributed modularity is paramount to become agile. This does not make the task at hand any easier. In short, good frameworks, architectures, platforms and most of all leadership are needed. PS. Data strategy dualism is to answer both questions: 1) How we deploy data in our products, services and processes to stay competitive? 2) What kind of data capabilities will we need and how we are to create them?
