Powering AML Barge Makani Loa
Bill Forslund
Business Development Manager - MER Equipment - BOLLARD? Marine Generators
Project Details
The Makani Loa was constructed at Gunderson Marine & Iron in Portland, OR, and launched on March 2, 2024.? Lynden’s Aloha Marine Lines will use the new barge to serve the Seattle to Hawaii market.
Alaska Marine Line’s specifications called for an enclosed 65kW generator with detached radiator. MER's engineers collaborated with AML & Gunderson to deliver the custom BOLLARD? enclosed genset, which now powers bi-weekly barge service to the Aloha State.
Specifications
BOLLARD? marine generators are engineered with more copper to conserve fuel, run cooler, and have a longer lifespan than traditional generators.
Invest in the best and your genset will easily pay for itself over its lifetime.
