Powerhouse People,

It was a momentous 2023 for Powerhouse and Powerhouse Ventures, and it’s been an honor sharing the year with you.?

Over the past 12 months, Powerhouse Ventures made six new investments and eight follow-on investments across our portfolio of 35 companies, which have collectively raised $375M and employ ~335 people. We made 183 introductions for our founders to talent, customers, and investors, and shared insights on megatrends in climate tech mining exploration and climate tech in Europe. We’re proud of the teams we’ve backed, the investors who have backed us, and the broader community we’ve cultivated; together we’re building technologies that enable people and our planet to thrive.

In 2023, Powerhouse, the sister company to Powerhouse Ventures, leveraged our database of nearly 10,000 climate tech startups to make 162 introductions for our clients, including 谷歌 , Black & Veatch , DNV , Enel Group , Mitsui & Co., Ltd. , and the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP). Our work included techno-economic analysis for OTPP, enabling Enel’s partnerships?in green hydrogen, and facilitating a number of additional undisclosed investments. We also shared insights on sodium ion batteries, the geography of climate tech, and the interplay of hardware and software in climate. We’re excited for what we can accomplish with our clients in 2024.

Finally, with more than 1,000 tickets sold, our 2023 New Dawn was our biggest and best yet. It was a magical night celebrating all that we’ve collectively done and all that we’ll do. Thank you to everyone who came out to make New Dawn the best climate tech party of the year. We’ll be announcing next year’s date soon.?

As 2023 draws to a close, I’m reminded that there wasn’t a day that went by this year without new talent, technologies, corporations, and capital entering the climate space. I’m grateful to the remarkable team at Powerhouse and Powerhouse Ventures for our role in making this possible. And I’m grateful for you and the role you play in our climate community.?
