POWERFUL TIPS FOR STAYING POSITIVE

We all know how important it is to STAY positive, especially in our current environment. Knowing and doing are 2 different things. The key word is "stay" because we are human and negative thoughts do show up! Here are 3 powerful tips to help you deal with negativity when it shows up in your day.
1.????Change your physiology:
Look up! You can’t think a negative thought while you are looking up--really! Try it by tilting your head back and looking at the ceiling. Now try thinking that negative thought. Or look far away. If there are mountains, that is easier than in the plains and prairies. Try it, even if you are only looking down a long hallway or out the window at a distant tree.
2.????Ask empowering questions:
It’s been said that the quality of your life is in direct proportion to the quality of the questions you ask. Is there another way to look at whatever prompted that negative thought? For example, you’ve undoubtedly heard the phrase “Rejection is God’s protection.” That’s an example of Reframing. ?Rejection is most often considered negative. If you are actually being protected from something much worse, it is now positive. You can also ask yourself, "What good or learning can come from this for me or someone else?"

3.????Practice Turn Around Techniques
Byron Katie, author of Loving What Is, has a great technique for examining a negative thought you have about another person. Her "Judge Your Neighbor" worksheet (download free on her website), teaches you how to deal with negative judgments of others. For example, you think “Joe is so self-centered!” and you turn it around and say, “I am so self-centered.” Feel that shift? It’s very powerful when you fall into negative judgement.
Another Turn Around Technique is to say to yourself, "You spot it, you got it!" ?That works with seeing good in others or seeing flaws in others. You can't see it in others unless you have it yourself.
