The Powerful Technology Behind the Florida Department of Education’s Highly Successful Public ELA and Math Standards Review

The Florida Department of Education used EdCredible’s? revolutionary platform to conduct the a successful public review of K-12 standards. Over the course of the review, EdCredible? collected over 118,000 reviews of standards for the FLDOE and provided instantaneous results to state leadership. No other company in the world has ever done anything like this and we can guarantee the same level of success for any state review.

On January 31, 2019, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Executive Order 19-32 that laid the foundation for eliminating Common Core, ensuring Florida’s high-quality academic standards are the best in the nation, and raising the bar for Civic Literacy.

On April 8, 2019, just 67 days after the Executive Order, the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) made history when EdCredible? launched the first of its kind standards public review site, www.floridastandardsreview.org, which leveraged EdCredible’s? revolutionary K-12 review platform. The unique platform gave the public an opportunity to review and comment on individual standards and provided real-time analytics at the standard level for state administrators.

Over a period of 9 months, EdCredible? collected 118,957 reviews of individual standards from stakeholders associated with 82 different school districts, diocese, charter schools, universities and colleges. EdCredible’s? platform provided stakeholders from education institutions and the general public an opportunity to review the previously approved (i.e. current) K-12 English Language Arts and mathematics standards. Stakeholders were also given the opportunity to review and provide feedback on draft versions of the revised standards as they became available and the site gave FLDOE leadership the ability to simultaneously manage multiple rounds of reviews and analyze data in real-time.

EdCredible’s? platform performed so well during the standards review, the FLDOE used EdCredible’s? technology for additional review mandates of the state adopted Civics Education Instructional Materials and Civic End-of-Course Assessment Test Item Specifications.
