??????? One of the things that I so much admire in Joybert Javnyuy is his desire to improve the lives of others through knowledge. He is one who not only understands the power of knowledge, but one who is committed to share what he knows in other to help you engineer success in your endeavors.
?
??????? I saw this morning that he had organized a live stream yesterday to share his thoughts about what people can do to improve their courage, branding and marketing. I quickly searched and watched the video, and here are some of the things I learned from it.

MARKETING
n? No matter how good you are, if nobody knows you, you’ll die a talented poor person. You can have the best products and skills, but until you’re known, you cannot cash out. Marketing is thus crucial to create awareness, generate leads and increase sales.
n? No one graduates from the school of marketing. Competitors are regularly introducing new products and services; the marketing landscape is constantly changing. You need to learn how to adapt and keep making your products/services known.
n? An understanding of the basics of marketing would not necessarily make you an incredible marketer, but it would give you a foundation for growth. Learn and use the basics of marketing to start your marketing journey.
n? Learn to localize your marketing strategy. Every environment carries a different culture and context. These affect the way prospects receive and interpret marketing messages. As a marketer, understanding this and learning to adapt your strategy to your environment will set you up for marketing success.
n? Social media is a huge marketplace. Most Cameroonians and Africans use various social media platforms. As a marketer, ask yourself, how do I leverage these platforms to improve my marketing?
n? You cannot market on social media without content. Learning how to strategically create content around your products and services will accelerate your marketing success on social media.
n? Leverage mobile phones to improve your marketing. Almost everyone in Cameroon today has a mobile phone. This means that if you are able to strategically target these people through their phones, your marketing messages will reach a wider audience. This wide reach can lead to more persons deciding to buy your products.
n? Leverage collaborative marketing: This will allow you to tap into different audiences and strategies. As a business person, understand that your reach determines your rich. By learning to collaborate with people who are doing things that align with your business, you can significantly expand your reach and increase your sales.

BUILDING COURAGE
Courage is invaluable for achieving business success. Unfortunately, the only way to become courageous is to start afraid. You might read books to be informed about courage, but only action will truly inculcate courage in you.
Here are some practical tips to improve your courage.

n? Evaluate your skills and resources. Courage does not come from nowhere. It usually stems from your skills and resources. Chances are that if you are lacking in these areas, fear would find a dwelling in you. Having the requisite skills and resources to excel in your chosen business enables courage. If you notice a lack of skills and resources, invest in getting them.
n? Idea validation: Many people have great business ideas, but lack the strategic certainty to embrace and maximize these ideas. The key is to research, understand and then act on your ideas. What does your idea solve? What is the long-term vision for your business? Think about the goals and market potential of whatever you are building.
n? Surround yourself with supportive people. Business persons must learn to find and relate with people who can understand and help them grow. Your network should be a strategic gathering of supportive persons.
n? Start small, and aim big. Every great business person you see today started from somewhere. They did not let the excuses we make today (I don’t have money to start) stop them. They started with what they had. Don’t burrow money to start a business, burrow money to grow a business.

BRANDING
Branding your products/services for a global market is not easy. It requires research, skills, resources and relationships. Start by thinking and acting for a global market from your locality. Then, do the following:
n? Understand Intellectual Property laws. You may have owned an idea forever, but it is truly not your own until it is patent. When your idea or business is protected by copyright laws, it makes it impossible for someone to steel it, since you can legally sue people for such criminal attempts.
n? Universalize your brand elements. Your business name, logo, colors, slogan and other brand makeups should be the same everywhere. This makes it easy for people to recognize and associate with your brand. Always ensure that your brand elements are universally appealing and consistently unique.
n? Optimize your digital presence: As you build digital embassies for your brand, be sure that they are truly representative of whatever you are building. Let your website and social media accounts/pages reflect your brand and its values. Let it be professional. The world demands excellence, your job is to deliver it consistently.
n? Build global partnerships: Real businesses thrive on the power of collaboration. If you own a business, chances are that there’s someone doing better than you in that niche. Instead of struggling to unhealthily compete with him/her, find ways to collaborate. This will allow you to exchange strategies and tap into each other’s growth process. If they have a presence in an international market, you should consider ways to partner with them to drive a business action in that market. This would be your unofficial but invaluable introduction to that market. Make sure you never appear as a beggar. Always seek to add value into the ventures of your partner.
n? Create products/services for the global market: If you always create locally, you will always sell locally. Can your products/services compete in an international market? Do your products/services solve problems for people beyond your village? You must design, package and market whatever you have in a way that can attract and sustain a global customer base.
