Clock Tower Sanctuary run the only drop-in day centre in Brighton and Hove for young people experiencing homelessness. Their centre provides a safe and supportive space - giving them a warm place to go and a chance to have fun!

Back in 2021, they signed up with Octopus Energy for Business. And since then, we’ve been powering their site with clean, green energy. Over time, our relationship with CTS evolved - turning into a partnership that goes beyond keeping the lights on.??

So, last week, we popped down to Brighton. We met with their fantastic team to see what they’ve been up to and learn how more people can help.?

Clock Tower Sanctuary opened its doors 27 years ago. Since then, they’ve helped 1000’s of young people aged 16-25 get out of homelessness.?

Amazingly, they keep their services running without any government or council funding. Instead, donations from generous people, the local community and businesses ensure that CTS stays open for those who need it.??

Sadly ‘I didn’t know if I was homeless enough?’ is still a common quote from visitors to the centre. And that’s because half of those sleeping rough will have become homeless for the first time before the age of 25.

So, CTS do everything they can to ensure young people sofa surfing, rough sleeping or in insecure housing know they’re welcome.?

As a result, their centre has become a place where people aged 16-25 can get the support and guidance they need - to get off the streets, into permanent housing and make plans for the future.?

Clock Tower Sanctuary continue to show us they champion young people's needs.?

For example, they run a monthly meeting called the Youth Voice Group - where their clients can have a say in what is offered, how CTS can make their ideas a reality and consider how other people, even parliament, can do more.

This plays a huge part in the supportive spaces they cultivate at CTS - because they want to listen and they want to help.?

By creating space for conversations like this, Clock Tower Sanctuary encourages their clients to find their voice, build confidence in their future and help the next young person in need to benefit even more.?
