The Power of Your Mind: You Become What You Think About!

Do you know how many thoughts are produced in your mind in one day? Yes, more than 60 thousand! Unbelievable, right??

But sadly most of them are either about past regrets or future plans. In addition, we spend most of our time thinking about what we have not instead of being grateful for what we have, isn't it??

Most of us are unaware of the fact that what we constantly think and feel shapes our behavior which eventually makes us who we are. As Earl Nightingale said, “We become what we think about”.?

Scientifically it has been proved that what we think and pay attention to over and over again programs our subconscious mind to consider them as strong beliefs which influence our actions.?

So to change your life, first, you need to understand the power of your mind. Acknowledge that you become what you think about!?

Your thoughts trigger your emotions and the repeating cycle of thinking & feeling influences your actions/behavior

Our thoughts influence our behaviors. We often think we are rational beings, but we are not. Our thoughts and emotions get in the way of our ability to think rationally and make decisions that are good for us, especially when they're driven by fear or anger.

Our actions often follow from our emotions rather than the other way around—which can be dangerous because it means that we don't always know what's going on inside ourselves before acting on it. But there is hope: if you want to change how a situation makes you feel or act differently than usual.

What we are thinking about ourselves or others also affects body chemistry and physiology. When we think, the brain releases chemicals into the bloodstream which can have a direct effect on our body's immune system.

How you think about a situation can influence your emotions, and how you feel is often a direct result of what you're thinking. The more positive or negative thoughts that go through your mind, the more likely it is that they'll come out in some form.?

This means that if a person has a negative attitude toward their job or schoolwork, they may not be able to perform as well because of it.

And if someone has an optimistic outlook on life and sees opportunities only around them instead of obstacles blocking their path forward (such as Red Bull), then they'll find themselves with many more opportunities than those who don't think this way at all.

The way you think about your problem is the real problem!

Without a doubt, life is full of ups and downs and every one of us is struggling with our life problems. However, most of our problems are not the real problem. Rather the way we think or feel about the problem is the real problem.?

For instance, you are not getting a promotion in your job. The promotion is not the problem but the way you are thinking about it is creating the issue.?

Or if you are not pursuing your dream and are forced to become what your parents want to become. Again, your career is not the problem here, rather it's about how you are thinking about it.?

If you try to look at your problems from a different perspective, they might not seem to be a real problem to you anymore. As by changing your emotional and body language, you can change your attitude and behavior towards your problems.?

This is how you can change your thoughts & behaviors and live a better life

how you can change your thoughts & behaviors and live a better life

We cannot deny the fact that change is not an overnight process. It requires commitment, patience, and a strong desire to keep moving especially when you feel like giving up.?

First thing first. Realize that your thoughts are the spontaneous overflow of ideas. And when you start paying attention or clinging to any particular thought, only then does it gain power that can influence your behavior.?

Want to create a new reality? Learn to take control over your thoughts, change your thinking pattern and see the magic! Here is a step-by-step process to do so.?

1) Recognize or Be Aware of Your Thoughts, Emotions & Body Reactions

The most important step towards changing your life by changing your thinking patterns is to be self-aware and think about your thinking which psychologists call 'meta cognition’.?

It includes observing and analyzing your thoughts, emotions, and even your body language in certain circumstances. The more you are aware of yourself, the easier it will be to make things better.?

2) Start Questioning Your Thoughts & Behavior

After being aware of your thoughts, now comes questioning yourself about your thoughts.? Learn to ask yourself, what am I thinking? How am I feeling? Is it making me anxious or angry? And the list goes on.?

It means having a check and balance on your thoughts to change your behavior so that you can live a less stressful life!?

3) Learn to Shift Your Attention To Something Positive

You cannot stop your thoughts. What you can do is shift your attention to something else to break the negative flow of thoughts. For example, think about something which can give you peace of mind.?

Change your limiting beliefs and be optimistic about your future. Take actions that can bring you closer to the life you have dreamed of.?

Bottom Line

I'm pretty sure, now you have got an idea about the power of your mind and thoughts. To conclude the discussion, it is worth mentioning that taking care of our thoughts, especially while in isolation is crucially essential to having a better life. Those who know how to control their negative thoughts and shift their attention to any productive activity undoubtedly can create the life they want!?

A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.”?
