The Power Of You!

As we develop along our leadership journey we often forget about our impact on others. For most of you,?YOU?will be the most successful person that most of your team knows.

Think back to how you used to view the Senior Leaders in your business and how you thought of them in the early stages of your career.?You are now that person.

They will look at you and take it all in instantly. How you look, what you are wearing, your shoes, your watch, even how you take your coffee. You are role models that are emulated, discussed and copied.

During our workshops we often ask the question, “how far away does your leader need to be for you to recognise their mood?”?The answer averages out at about 30m. Then we ask, "So how do you feel if they are not in a great place?"

The answers...... Nervous,?gives me butterflies, anxious, makes me not want to say hello!

This is a Superhero power, making people feel uncomfortable at a distance. And you have that power!

So let's think about this and maybe turn it on its head. What if your first connection was super positive, bright and engaging. What effect would that have?

The power of you is always present and no matter what problems, challenges or opportunities that are occupying you at the time, if you project this onto your team you will encounter negative results.

You will shut down communication and what's even more catastrophic is that you will be teaching them how to lead your way!

So never forget the power of you. Be positively present and enjoy being a Superhero.
