Women who feel empowered have the ability to empower other women. When women support each other, it creates a positive impact that goes beyond personal success, encouraging a culture of shared growth and accomplishment.
Why Collaboration Matters
- Strength in Unity: When women come together, they form a formidable force. Collaboration allows for the pooling of diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives, leading to innovative solutions and enhanced problem-solving capabilities.
- Mentorship and Growth: By mentoring and supporting each other, women can accelerate their professional development. Experienced professionals can offer guidance, share valuable insights, and open doors to new opportunities for their peers.
- Breaking Barriers: Unity among women helps dismantle systemic barriers and biases that have historically hindered their progress. A supportive network can amplify voices, advocate for equality, and drive meaningful change in workplace policies and culture.
- Emotional Resilience: The professional journey can be challenging and isolating. Having a network of supportive women can provide the emotional resilience needed to navigate setbacks and celebrate successes.
- I met the co-founders of The AusMumpreneur Network (Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner) when I started Candice PR eleven years ago. I have worked with many of their members, authors, and with co-founders, Peace and Katy. I have had the opportunity to discuss PR at numerous events, served as a judge for their awards, and presented several awards. I met a foster carer named Kym Brown at a conference and was inspired by her story, so I offered to do PR work for free. Her Marie Claire article inspired me to foster and adopt one of my daughters. This all would not be possible without the collaboration and support of Peace and Katy, the co-founders. I am so excited to talk at The AusMumpreneur Conference in Melbourne tomorrow.
- Annalise Brown: Annalise has also acted as a mentor to me. She brought me on various projects, including the contract work that I did with her at Dentsu. For the years that I worked with Annalise, I was always appreciative of how she collaborated and advocated for women.
- Karen Weaver is a force to be reckoned with in the publishing world. I had the pleasure of meeting this incredible mother of six through The AusMumpreneur Network. She advocated for me and brought me on to handle the PR for The Duchess of York’s children’s book campaign. She is a pillar of strength and a born storyteller. I have always admired how she runs a publishing empire while raising six children.
- Tory Archbold: I met a Sydney-based entrepreneur, Jackie Baron, for coffee to see how we could collaborate. She stated that she had participated in one of Tory Archbold's courses. She also mentioned that Tory had written a book and thought I would love it. I devoured?Self-Belief is Your Super Power?and soon signed up to work with Tory. I have been through similar life experiences, so I resonated with Tory. I really loved her positive, heart-centered approach, especially when I needed extra support. Tory and the members of her community are high-vibrational, driven female entrepreneurs and women in business. It has been a pleasure to collaborate and learn about the importance of advocacy from Tory. She combines affection with resoluteness in her approach. I love that she understands the PR world that I work in and that we have similar personal experiences.
- Dr Leanne Elich: is one of the most inspirational women I have met. Leanne is a paediatric oncologist, Sales Psychology Strategist and Certified Master Neuroplastician. Her story coupled with her personal and professional achievements are truly phenomenal. Leanne is the Ambassador for NSW for Women's Network Australia.
- Clients: Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of incredible women who have overcome challenges and grabbed opportunities. These women have trusted me with their stories, brands and thought leadership profiles. I am so grateful for working with each one of you.
How to Foster Collaboration
- Create or Join Supportive Networks
- Mentor and Be Mentored
- Celebrate Each Other's Successes
- Be an Advocate: Advocacy can open doors and create new opportunities for those around you.
I am so grateful to have met these women in Australia. I am also teaching my daughters to empower women through collaboration rather than competition.

6 个月I absolutely love this article Candice Gersun - Top PR Agency Australia, there is tremendous power and a genuine affection in your words. Prior to working with Tory Archbold I didn't realise or fully understand the concept of collaboration or advocacy, mostly because I was too afraid to step out of my fear and into the light. When we surround ourselves with women who are happy to elevate others, the opportunities are endless. Thanks so much for sharing.
