The Power of Video: What You Need to Know

LinkedIn is really pushing video right now. They are artificially amplifying video posts, just because it’s a video.
The trick is to post native video. Don’t post it to YouTube and then post the link to have people leave the platform. That is certainly not what LinkedIn wants. They want you to spend more and more time inside of LinkedIn.
Besides gaining more engagement. Video is a fantastic way for your audience to get to know you. Audiences these days are asking - no, demanding - that they know you, your company and/or brand on a personal level.
You need to not just speak, but show, the people that you are respectable. Have a strong sense of morals and operate with the customer (them) in mind.
Here are some of my recommendations:
- Make your videos authentic. Speak to your customers as if they are friends in the room.
- Audio: most users watch videos on their phone on silent. Think about investing into a caption generating service.
- Be consistent. Put out content that is relevant to your target audience several times per week. (It’s difficult. I recommend creating a content calendar).
- Interact. Ask questions or feedback. People want to give their $0.02 when they can. Especially if you’ve done a good job and are speaking on something that resonates with your target audience.
- Have fun with it. Doing video, people are going to sense if this is a chore and you are not innately motivated to speak to them.
With all of that in mind, I’m going to create and publish other useful hints and tips when it comes to growing your LinkedIn, brand and audience as a whole.
Here are some other topics I’m going to be speaking on:
- Retarget tagging = traffic = eyes = sales
- Motion Makes Money. Create ads that move
- Static Ads vs Motion Ads
- TOM (Top of Mind) with the 3 S’s
- $ilence $ells
- Pixilate me Captain
- Why beat them when you can...steal them...?
- Comedy Cookies
...and more. Stay tuned
Luck runs out but safety and security is good for life.
