As a community leader, business strategist, and advocate for women of color, I’m reminded daily of how vital visibility is, particularly for historically marginalized people. Our voices, stories, and perspectives matter—not just in words, but in the spaces we occupy, the influence we wield, and the actions we take to drive change.
Visibility isn’t merely about being seen or heard; it’s about the impact we create by showing up aligned with our values.
At The Social Butterfly Gal and Hustle + Socialize, I am unwavering in my commitment to amplifying the visibility, confidence, and unapologetic power of women of color & minority business women. Our visibility isn’t just personal. It’s cultural, it’s political, and it’s a stand against narratives that would rather see us silent and invisible. This is our call to lean into value-based visibility and make our voices louder than ever.
Value-based visibility is essential. It’s a way to assert our worth, make our values known, and advocate for what our communities need to thrive. Value-based visibility not only gives us the strength to own our stories but also challenges spaces to make room for voices that push for real change. When we amplify our unique voices, we disrupt systems that thrive on exclusion and send a clear message: We’re here, we’re powerful, and we’re just getting started!
"If you stand for nothing, what will you fall for?"
So, how do we show up in a way that’s both visible and value-driven? It starts by getting crystal clear on what matters most. Ask yourself: What am I willing to stand for—and what am I unwilling to compromise? What issues spark my passion and push me to act? These are the values that define you, that ground your message, and that guide the way you show up, both online and in-person.
Next, bring these values to life through your unique voice. Your background, your story, your culture—they all play into what makes you you, and that’s where your strength lies. Embrace what makes you distinct. In spaces that might feel unwelcoming or intimidating, your voice can stand firm, grounded in your values and authenticity. This is your superpower.
When we show up confidently in our values, we naturally draw people, partners, and opportunities that align with what we stand for. It’s not about watering down our messages or making them palatable for the masses—it’s about showing up as our whole selves and attracting those who are just as passionate about our vision as we are.
For me at, The Social Butterfly Gal and Hustle + Socialize, this means calling in partners who get the importance of Latina and women of color voices in business, attracting clients who are ready to be visible leaders, and building community with those who believe in equity, justice, and the power of diverse voices. Value-based visibility isn’t just a brand strategy; it’s the heartbeat of everything we do, and it’s what helps us grow alongside people who honor that commitment!
Now is the time to continue building spaces that are brave, inclusive, and unapologetically committed to progress. La lucha sigue, and I stand firm in the fight for justice, for community, and for the future we all deserve.
As we head into a new week, let this be the energy and fuel needed to reignite our commitment to strategic, unapologetic action. Let's use this as fuel and pour back into our power.
I'm opening up an opportunity for support by offering FREE Training to our community members on Thursday, November 14 at 12:00 p.m. CST on Zoom.
This will be an empowering space to explore how we, as individuals and as a community, can harness visibility to stand against oppression, amplify our voices, and drive impactful change. Together, we'll tap into the power of value-driven visibility—staying true to our principles while becoming more assertive, vocal, and impactful in public spaces and within our communities.
