A trauma sensitive body scan meditation lying flat on the floor in Shavasana ( corpse position) is so therapeutic . It heals trauma stored in the body with a release by inhaling and exhalation of the breadth feeling all the bodily sensations from the crown chakra to the root chakra . A cushion support can be used or gentle touch by a guided yoga/meditation instructor. Healing nature music or a water fountain can also be used that allows for us to embrace natures sense of listening. Heated cloths in warm water can be used and rubbed gently on the face, neck, hands and feet and kept & a seperate cloth can be folded on the eye lids for closed eyes. This allows you to feel gentle touch and feel clean from all the toxic energy stored in all parts of your body from head to toe. Reassurance, trust, self-compassion and clarity is gained from this beautiful experience. This is a more holistic approach & scientifically proven for many survivors of "Trauma" as a daily ritual practice. Some individuals may hold a prayer bead and a prayer stone and hold it in their hands with inspirational words like "hope" and " forgive". Lets allow a community of healthcare practitioners to combine both eastern & western approaches that are proving "efficacious" in relapse prevention and mindfulness.
