Today I decided to "give myself permission" to spend some time thinking about my creative work. I do view my work with James on our business Motivational Maps and our community of Mappers as creative - but immersing myself in my own artwork is particularly therapeutic. Recently I have been developing work on the theme of The Power of Three. Partly inspired by architecture and partly by its importance to our business. The circle shape has become increasingly interesting to me because of my study of Tai Chi but also because of the joint creative project with James and other artists in The Wider Circle Exhibition.
"The universe is founded upon a profound “law of three”. We observe it in almost everything. For example, scientifically, there are three dimensions of space: height, width, and depth. There are three types of matter: solid, liquid, and gas. We might also view another trinity of reality: matter, space, and time.
Mythologically, we observe the law of three as well. There were three primary gods in Greek mythology: Hades, Lord of the Underworld, Zeus, Lord of the Heavens, and Poseidon, Lord of the Sea.
