The Power of Thoughts: Unlocking Your Potential for Better Actions

I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits. Today, I want to discuss an important concept: the direct link between our thoughts and behaviors. How we act is, indeed, a reflection of what we think, whether it is consciously or subconsciously. Your ability to achieve your goals, and then to create even more goals, requires you to harness the power of thoughts.

I learned this the hard way. When I was younger, I used to talk about what I didn’t want in my life, but as it happened, most things I didn’t want happened in my life. Our thoughts are powerful, and our thoughts are amplified by our words. Subconsciously, we can create something positive for ourselves, or create something negative.


By understanding this connection and actively improving our subconscious programming, we can elevate our thoughts and, in turn, enhance our actions.


Here are five powerful ways to improve our subconscious programming and unleash our full potential:


1. Self-Awareness: The journey towards improvement begins with self-awareness. Take the time to reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and actions. Notice any recurring patterns or limiting beliefs that might be holding you back. By becoming aware of these patterns, you can consciously challenge and reframe them, allowing for positive change.


In my life, I found writing things that I wanted, and how I was feeling, is a powerful tool to utilize. it is important to be in control of your thoughts and emotions, as these impact our behaviors.


2. Mindfulness Practices: Engaging in mindfulness practices helps to quiet the mind and bring attention to the present moment. Regular meditation, deep breathing exercises, or mindful activities like yoga can help cultivate a sense of clarity and focus. These practices enable you to observe your thoughts without judgment, allowing for better understanding and control over your subconscious programming.


In the early part of the pandemic, I went to Yoga for the first time. It was there that I realized that I had too much mental clutter- my mind was overloaded with the responsibilities of owning businesses and motherhood. It was challenging for me to be still and focus on the deep breathing exercises. Fortunately, with a lot of practice, I was able to focus---on my mind and Body.


3. Positive Affirmations: Affirmations are a powerful tool to reprogram your subconscious mind for success. Create positive statements that reflect the reality you want to manifest. Repeat these affirmations daily, preferably in front of a mirror, to reinforce positive beliefs and replace negative self-talk. By consistently affirming positive thoughts, you reshape your subconscious programming, leading to improved actions aligned with your aspirations.


4. Visualization and Mental Rehearsal: Utilize the power of visualization to create a mental picture of your desired outcomes. Imagine yourself successfully achieving your goals and engaging in the actions necessary for success. This technique helps align your subconscious mind with your conscious intentions, making it easier to take positive actions in real life. Regularly visualize and mentally rehearse your desired outcomes to reinforce positive programming.


5. Surround Yourself with Positive Influences: The company we keep plays a significant role in shaping our subconscious programming. Surround yourself with individuals who uplift and inspire you. Seek out mentors, coaches, or like-minded peers who encourage personal growth and positivity. Engaging with positive influences amplifies your own positive thinking, leading to better actions and outcomes.


During the pandemic, I was able to slow down and find like-minded peers. Fortunately, due to social media and technology, I was able to connect with amazing individuals -many of whom lived in other countries.
