Perhaps there are no two words overlooked in the interview process more than a simple "Thank you". If you are having trouble finding a job, have gone through rounds of interviews only for that dreaded 'we have chosen to go a different direction' email, or just cant seem to get past the first one or two steps- this could make a huge difference. Think about how many times you say "thank you" in a day: The employee at Starbucks? The cashier at the checkout lane? The person who holds a door open for you? If it is considered polite to thank people in everyday interactions, then it should likewise be important to thank another person for taking the time to consider you for a position within their company. A post-interview "Thank You" holds significant power by making you stand apart from the competition and by creating a personal connection with the interviewer and showing genuine gratitude and respect for their time and effort. The next time you interview, please consider taking a few minutes and sending a "Thank You" email- you never know if this could be the decision maker between you and another candidate.

7 个月I always send a thank you to the person I interviewed with and a separate one to the hr person who set up the meeting. It’s a simple way to show appreciation and reiterate that you listened and are interested!
