SPX?FLOW?acquired Seital in 2012, expanding its portfolio with high-performance separators and clarifiers for industries like dairy, food, and beverage. Founded in 1983 in Santorso, Italy, Seital had already established itself as a global leader in providing innovative, high-quality solutions. Today, as part of SPX?FLOW, Seital continues to play a key role in driving innovation and delivering value to the food and beverage sector.

What are the main applications of Seital separators and clarifiers in the dairy and beverage industry?

Seital separators and clarifiers cover an extremely large number of applications in the dairy and beverage industry. Dairy was the first market. Seital covers milk and whey skimmers and clarifiers, bacteria clarifiers, cream concentrators, butter oil concentrators and purifiers, cold milk skimmers, and manual and automatic milk and cream standardization units. In the beverage industry, it is mainly about clarifiers but covers an extremely large number of products like wine and beer for alcoholic beverages and fruit or vegetable juices, tea, coffee, carbonated, and non-carbonated drinks for non-alcoholic beverages.

What distinguishes Seital separation technology from other solutions on the market?

The main differentiation comes from the ability to partner with customers, understand their needs, and provide solutions to enable them to reach their goals with confidence and peace of mind. How does SPX FLOW solutions meet the specific needs of customers, especially in the context of collaboration with Fraugroup?

We listen carefully to customer needs; we engage our large team of experts in different functions, and we help customers to find the right solution. In the collaboration with Fraugroup, we have found a very similar approach and identified synergies to enhance the benefits for the customer.

How important are high performance and energy efficiency in the design of Seital separators for the food industry?

Not only are we committed to sustainability within our own operations, but our innovative process solutions help our customers reach their sustainability goals. For example, our Seital separators feature the Direct Drive, where the motor is mounted directly on the bowl shaft. This eliminates the need for gears, belts, or other intervening mechanisms, minimizing energy loss in transmission. Additionally, fewer moving parts result in quieter, more space-efficient operations, less maintenance, and reduced spare parts inventory.

How do SPX FLOW and Fraugroup work together to continuously improve plants and offer innovative solutions?

This is another great example where SPX?FLOW?Solution Makers and Fraugroup teams find the best fit to integrate solutions, leverage in-house competencies, and combine scopes based on each other’s expertise to reach the highest efficiency standards.

With the Frau Formula, Fraugroup promises a quick return on investment and sustainable production. How does SPX FLOW help achieve these goals?

The SPX?FLOW?portfolio includes a wide range of solutions and components that allow customers to achieve a quick return on investment in line with their sustainability goals. For instance the APV Membrane Concentration Solutions: Highly sustainable, these solutions boost production capacity while reducing waste by recovering water and valorizing by-products. At the moment, we are working with Fraugroup on just such a project.
