The Power of Support: How Small Actions Can Make a Big Difference in Business

I want to give a special shout-out to Caroline Hood.

The little actions count.

While exploring different ways to upgrade my brand and earn more, I received a few notifications from LinkedIn. They notified me that Caroline had liked some of my posts, which had received little to no attention.

The little things matter.

Supporting someone in their business does not always take big bucks or grand gestures. What Caroline does not know is that simply clicking "like" on something that took me time to construct and the courage to post inspires me just a little bit more to do what I do even more.

You see, even the strongest among us get discouraged from time to time. Sometimes, we feel as if what we offer does not matter, and the noise from our personal issues or unresolved traumas can scream louder than any training or healing work we have done.

Supporting someone in their business does not always take big bucks or grand gestures. Offering encouragement and constructive feedback are helpful ways to assist someone in their business growth. Additionally, being a good person—reliable and a keeper of your word—helps. If you say you are going to do something, do it. If circumstances change and you cannot fulfill your commitment, communicate that instead of ignoring the person or pretending like you never made the promise.

Let me be clear: people's businesses are their lives. When you help someone, you are helping them build their self-esteem and courage to navigate life itself.

For some people, providing resources and networking opportunities can also be incredibly helpful to their business growth. Although we all want to make money, please offer support without ulterior motives or hidden agendas. If you want something from the transaction, be transparent and upfront about the collaboration. Although it requires more effort, and most are unwilling or incapable of doing it without compensation, offering to help with specific tasks or projects can alleviate pressure on the business owner. Overall, being a dependable person can have a significant impact on someone's life and their business journey.

Remember, businesses are people.

Here are other ways you can show your support for a business:

1. Offer encouragement and constructive feedback.

2. Provide resources and networking opportunities.

3. Offer to help with specific tasks or projects to alleviate pressure on the business owner.

4. Be a reliable and understanding source of support throughout their business journey.

Truth be told, you are not obligated to do anything you don't want to do. If you choose not to help others, that's completely fine. However, when you assist others in achieving their business goals, you also gain something from the arrangement. For instance, you can witness how your support can transform a struggling business into a much more successful one. This support can be financially rewarding for you, depending on the relationship established with that person.
