In terms of big goals, I like Mike Michalowicz's improvement over Michael Collins's BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal). Michalowicz says we should all have a Big BANG-Big, Beautiful Audacious Noble Goals.
I LOVE this, but sometimes BIG can get in the way of the circuitry of our brain that helps us move forward. Actually, in regards to behavior, the bigger you make something, the less likely you are to do it. Have you ever had a moment in life where you had a list of a hundred things that needed to get done? What is the most like event to occur if you are focusing on everything that needs to happen? Nothing. The brain perceives the action you are about to undertake as difficult, and procrastination sets in naturally.
The solution: figure out the habits that it will take to get to your Big BANG and make them as small, easy, repeatable, and exciting as possible. So I say, have a small vision to compliment your big one. Consistent daily movement-that's how we get to the vision.
Do you see what happens? Big things become do-able. Motion happens. Motion brings momentum. Momentum becomes habit. Habit creates your actual results.
Message me if you want to see MY intentions for this week if you think it will help guide yours.
