If you’ve ever felt the pressure to constantly do more, be more, and achieve more, you’re not alone.
Many of the successful entrepreneurs who joined us at the ranch this summer were carrying that same weight. They were used to pushing forward, always striving for the next big milestone.
But here’s the thing: what they came to realize was that by slowing down, they were able to reset their nervous systems and access the clarity they needed to create the outcomes they’d been chasing in both their personal and business lives.
The very goals they’d been working so hard to achieve started falling into place when they gave themselves the space to pause.
The Power of Slowing Down for Real Growth
When I asked at the beginning of each retreat what their intentions were most answered with one word "clarity".
And the most beautiful thing is that they discovered that their experience wasn't just about finding clarity.
It was about how slowing down opened up the energy, creativity, and momentum they had been seeking.
By stepping back from the constant hustle, they were able to reconnect with themselves in a way that allowed for deeper insights—and that’s when the deeper breakthroughs really started happening.
Whether it was making more aligned decisions, finding a fresh perspective on their leadership, or taking the next big step in their business, the act of slowing down made those shifts possible.
And the results were clear: slowing down didn’t mean they were falling behind.
In fact, it brought them closer to the outcomes they truly wanted.
How You Can Start Slowing Down for Your Own Growth
If you’re like most of us, you probably feel like there’s always more to do and slowing down isn’t an option.
But sometimes, the very growth and success we’re striving for comes when we make space for it.
Here are a few simple ways you can start slowing down and see the impact:

1. Create Space for Reflection
Take 10 minutes a day to be still—no agenda, no to-do list.? Literally SO NOTHING.? Just "be".? And gradually work your way up to 30 minutes a day.? ?This small act can create the mental clarity you need to see your next steps more clearly.
2. Pause Before Making Decisions
Instead of rushing to act when choices, commitments, challenges etc come at you, take a breath, walk away - take a mini 5 minute "do nothing" break, and then respond.
Slowing down before making decisions can lead to smarter choices in both your personal life and business, and prevent you from overcommitting.
3. Build Short Breaks to Recharge
Even on your busiest days, schedule short breaks where you step away from your work. For me it's as simple as going outside and spending a few minutes grooming or just sitting with a horse.? For you find something that gives you peace and schedule in time to go do it. -Sitting on your porch with a coffee/tea, perhaps watching nature outside your house, reading a fiction book, etc.
These moments of rest often lead to fresh ideas and the energy to tackle your goals with more focus.
Slowing down isn’t about resting (although it can be if it's needed)—it’s about making space for the clarity and growth that leads to real, lasting outcomes.
Our guests at the ranch learned in real time and in an embodied way what I encourage my mentorship clients to do;? that when they allowed themselves to pause, they began to see the very breakthroughs they’d been working so hard for.?
Sometimes, the key to personal and business growth isn’t doing more—it’s creating space for more.
If you’ve been feeling like you’re constantly pushing but not getting the results you want, I encourage you to take a few moments to slow down.
You might be surprised at how much clarity and momentum come when you give yourself that space
