The power of shared experience
When we decided to bring all 42,000 Pratt & Whitney employees together in February for an event we called the Stand Up for Quality, we didn’t realize just how effective that shared experience could be.
Employees gathered in our auditorium, tuned in online, held events at their sites and had meaningful conversations with their managers. All of it focused on one basic understanding: that Lives Depend on Us.
It was a watershed moment that I hope will have lasting effects in our industry.
The message spread around the world among our employees. We shared it with our aftermarket partners and supply base.
In a time of increased scrutiny of our industry, our Lives Depend on Us motto aims to focus our attention on our customer. The request is simple. In all that we do, think of families: mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, neighbors, servicemen, and servicewomen – they rely on us. Our engines transport passengers, move economies, and defend freedom.
We are privileged to work at one of few companies in the world capable of making the engines that power commercial and military aircraft.
On this World Quality Day, I am thankful for my Quality team, the professionals who work each day to ensure the quality or our product. And I’m thankful to work at a company that stands up for quality.
