Indeed. it was a splendid week. The internet space and office environments came alive with reset button pressed towards quest for service excellence. This like every other customer service week celebrated yearly, reminded everyone of that ULTIMATE KING, the CUSTOMER without whom no business can survive.
So what happens to the CUSTOMER who often gets treated like a person of straw afterwards by many that sing his praises yearly. What happens beyond the CS week where he is made to feel like a KING only to later realize that, even the hailing is self-servicing for some who only take ill-advantage of the special day for self projection.
POWER OF SERVICE, like the 2019 theme, MAGIC OF SERVICE tends to address a similar point which if gotten right, takes care of the ever increasing gaps in the quality services delivery. And that is THE MUTUALITY of REWARDS that come with good service which if organizations and individuals catch will propel them beyond imaginable success.
To summarize my thoughts, It is said that the CUSTOMER is the LIFEBLOOD of every organization. This is very correct and I add that SERVICE is that vehicle that connects a business to that LIFEBLOOD. Whatever affects that SERVICE directly affects the LIFEBLOOD. Therefore, understanding the POWER of service is to appreciate the relationship between CUSTOMER LOYALTY, CUSTOMER RETENTION, REPEAT SALES and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
