1. Increase the Number of Physicians in Rural America - Only 10% of physicians practice in rural communities. But, 25% of Americans live outside of metropolitan areas.
2. Increase Care for Children - About 24% of children in rural settings are battling poverty.
3. Work to Keep Rural Hospitals Viable - Within the past 25 years, more than 470 rural hospitals have shut down due to loss?of funding.
4. Treatment for Hypertension in Rural America - Risk for hypertension is much higher in rural areas. Factors such as isolation and?overall aging may be contributing to this risk.
