The Power of Reputation in Driving Sales Growth

In today's world, where trust is fragile, reputation is more important than ever for driving sales growth.?
I recently moderated a webinar featuring Katie Wagner, President of KWSM: a digital marketing agency, and Brent Bonine, Managing Director of AcSELLerate. We discussed the importance of reputation management in the context of sales and marketing.
Your business reputation is currency that can open doors and influence buying decisions – here are three things I think every business owner should know:
Consistency is Key
One of the fundamental principles of building a strong reputation is consistency. Your messaging, actions, and brand identity should align seamlessly. Inconsistent communication can erode trust and confuse potential customers.
It's easy to fall into the trap of saving your best communication efforts for holidays or seasonal promotions. However, consistent, year-round engagement can significantly boost your brand's reputation and drive sales.
By maintaining a steady stream of valuable content, you can build trust, enhance brand recall, and gather valuable data to refine your marketing strategies.

Your NPS has Power
Another important element in building brand reputation is understanding your Net Promoter Score (NPS), which is the ratio of satisfied customers to unsatisfied ones.?
Your NPS is a valuable metric that provides insight (to you and others) into how customers and the general public perceive your organization. A high NPS is something you can display on your website and business communications. It can significantly impact your ability to attract new customers, foster loyalty among existing ones, and strengthen relationships with partners and employees.
Here's a tip to boost your NPS: Personalize your follow-up. After a customer interaction, send a personalized thank-you note or email with an invitation to leave a review and/or feedback. This simple gesture can go a long way in improving customer satisfaction.
Tech is Your Friend
When it comes to monitoring your online reputation and that of your company, it’s crucial to utilize all the technology at your disposal to perform market research, social listening, and media monitoring - for your brand, your industry, and the geography or business vertical you serve.?
Using tools like Google Alerts can help you stay informed about what people are saying about your organization online, allowing you to stay in the know and address any negative feedback before it escalates into a crisis. Follow industry organizations and even your competitors on LinkedIn and other platforms in order to stay aware of major issues and trends.?
Finally, while AI is becoming popular for streamlining many aspects of sales and marketing, it cannot replace the human connection. Instead of relying solely on automated tools, focus on creating content that resonates with your audience. By infusing your messaging with authenticity, authority and empathy, you can build stronger relationships with customers and drive long-term growth.
